先輩：なに？Nani?‘Yeah?’

後輩：あ、ちょっといいですか？A,chottoiidesuka?‘Do you have a second?’

先輩：いいよ。Iiyo.‘Sure.’

後輩：あの、実はちょっと相談があるんですけど、(Getting aprecommitment)Ano,jitsuwachottosoudangaarundesukedo.‘Well, I actually have something to ask you.’

先輩：うん。Un.‘Okay.’

後輩：あの、先輩、明後日はお忙しいですよね。(Checking on availability)Ano,senpai,asattewaoisogashiidesuyone.‘Well, you are busy the day after tomorrow, aren’t you?’

先輩：明後日？うん、ちょっとわかんないけど、今。Asatte?Un,chottowakannaikedo.‘The day after tomorrow?Well, I’m not sure yet.’

後輩：あの、実は、Ano,jitsuwa,‘Well, actually,’

先輩：友達とマージャンかな？Tomodachitomaajankana?‘Maybe I’ll play mahjong with my friends.’
